Purpose/Overview of Development Coordinator

The Development Coordinator supports the Development Department through data entry, solicitation of grants, and grants management. This position reports to the Director of Development.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enter donor data in Raiser’s Edge, including gifts, contact and relationship information, registrations and action notes.
  • Write grants and grant lifecycle administration including application submissions and deadlines.
  • Perform donor research.
  • Generates thank you/acknowledgment letters to donors.
  • Provide fundraising reports and donor/prospect research as requested.
  • Coordinates correspondence cards with donors for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, etc, and tracks in database.
  • Assembles materials as needed for various tours, events, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Records deposits on the general ledger.
  • Reconciliation with finance.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Development Director.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Required:

  • A minimum of two years experience in grant writing
  • Excellent knowledge of proposal submission and fundraising process
  • Ability to study and understand programs and funding requirements of the organization
  • Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources
  • Multitasking, organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written communication skills to craft thoughtful and impactful donor communications.
  • Understanding of donor relations and stewardship principles.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Respect for donor confidentiality and ethical handling of sensitive information.
  • Proven experience in database management, preferably in Raiser’s Edge (Blackbaud).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to perform data analysis.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.

Working Environment:

  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Assist with other administrative duties in school operations as needed.
  • Must be able to tolerate noise.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Must have correctable hearing and sight.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to work with all common office equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
