St. Norbert College, a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college is seeking a Director of Annual Giving and Donor Relations. This position leads comprehensive programs to build and sustain relationships and generate and renew financial support from alumni, friends, and parents for St. Norbert College. This is accomplished through opportunities to give to the unrestricted St. Norbert Fund, projects for restricted giving to college priorities, and long-term stewardship initiatives that enrich relationships between donors and the college.

The salary range for this position is $72,000 – $79,000, based on experience.  This position reports to the Vice President for College Advancement.

Specific responsibilities:

Plan, goal set, implement, and evaluate comprehensive annual giving and donor relations programs to fulfill institutional fundraising goals and to engage, recognize, and retain donors. –  40%

Lead, coach, and manage the Annual Giving – Engagement Center Coordinator and Stewardship and Engagement Manager to achieve goals. This includes establishing, monitoring, and evaluating personnel performance goals and observing, understanding, and growing staff. – 25%

Partner with Information Services to create, evaluate, and distribute statistical analysis of all St. Norbert Fund, other annual giving, and donor relations solicitations, communications, and projects to inform current and future strategies. – 20%

Create and collaborate on projects and solicitations with College Advancement and college-wide staff to achieve overall annual fundraising and donor relations goals. – 10%

Prepare and administer the annual budget, management controls, policies, and procedures. – 5%

Perform additional duties as assigned and attend College required training. Regular attendance is required. Work in a manner that is aware of personal safety and the safety of others and observes safety, health and sanitation codes, regulations, or practices required by the College or governmental authority.

  • Stewardship and Engagement Manager

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education –     

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Experience and Credentials –

  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse campus environment or commitment to do so as an employee of St. Norbert College.

  • 5-7 years experience identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding annual and/or major gifts.

  • 1-2 years experience with event planning and coordination.

  • Ability to multitask, meet specific deadlines, and prioritize tasks and assignments.

  • Ability to align team objectives and priorities, secure commitment of others on the team to objectives to be achieved, and ensure appropriate linkages/partnerships are established and maintained.

  • Skilled in anticipating and preparing for short-term and long-term opportunities or problems. Ability to see the big picture by continually scanning the environment to ensure current focus is aligned with changing conditions. 

  • Ability to lead by example and motivate others to do the same. Ability to improve one’s own performance resulting in continuous learning and development of self. 

  • Ability to successfully encourage others to buy into the team’s mission, goals and agenda, and is supportive of the wider organization and aligns objectives and priorities accordingly.

  • Knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Workday) and ability to learn upgrades and new programs as needed.

  • Good judgment, tact, sensitivity and discretion in the handling of confidential information, materials and situations.

Working Conditions:

Regular work hours are M – F, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. This position is expected to work on campus on a regular basis and is eligible to participate in a Hybrid Work and Flexible Schedules. Approval of Flexible Work Arrangements are at the discretion of the department supervisor to ensure that  the needs of the department and college are met.
