Join Our Volunteer Board of Directors
Vital Voices is looking for passionate community members to lend their voice and help guide our mission as a Volunteer Board Member.
Based in Milwaukee County, Vital Voices plays a critical role in advocating for quality services that improve lives and advance recovery for individuals living with mental health and substance use disorders. We amplify consumer voices through interviews and assessment surveys that help strengthen provider services, accessibility, and satisfaction.
Our work also includes the Telephone Reassurance Program, offering daily wellness calls to seniors living alone, and a Consumer Phone Helpline that supports individuals navigating provider services and providing direct individual advocacy as needed.
As a Board Member, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Represent Vital Voices in the community
- Help shape policy, programs, and organizational direction
- Serve on committees such as fundraising, finance, or HR
- Gain hands-on leadership, nonprofit, and advocacy experience
We are committed to an inclusive and diverse Board and encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply. Experience in fundraising, IT, accounting, or HR is helpful, but most important is a genuine desire to give back and support others.
Board meetings are currently held virtually most of the year with a few in-person meetings.
Interested? We encourage all who feel called to serve to apply and help us continue being the voice of the people.
Please reach out to our Executive Director, Kimberly Zimdars, at vitalvoices@sbcglobal.net or 414-771-4368 for more information about applying and background check forms.
