Qualifications: Applicant must possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent of experience in mental health/substance use services. Applicant must have experience in social services. Personal/family experience with mental health and/or substance use is extremely beneficial in this role. Applicant must have good written/oral communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to work independently and be detail oriented. Candidate must have access to car and car insurance, and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.

Responsibilities: This Service Coordinator position will work on MHSIP surveys, GPRA interviews, and Advocacy intakes. Additionally, the Service Coordinator will work on Telephone Reassurance Program duties as needed. Duties include informing participants and providers of Vital Voices’ mission, conducting GPRA interviews and MHSIP surveys, responding to calls from the helpline, working with providers regarding participants’ concerns, and attending necessary meetings. The candidate will work closely with the Program Manager. Additional duties would include helping to train new staff and other duties as assigned.

Make a difference in the lives of people utilizing mental health and substance use recovery services in Milwaukee County. Vital Voices is a nonprofit organization that advocates for individuals whose lives have been affected by mental health and substance use. We conduct program consumer satisfaction surveys and interviews with individuals in treatment. We also operate a Helpline to aid participants and family members with questions or concerns about the services they receive and advocate on their behalf as needed. Additionally, Vital Voices operates the Telephone Reassurance Program which uses volunteers to make daily check-in calls to older adults.

Other Employment Information: Job is partially remote with a flexible schedule. Typical hybrid week is 2 days in office and 3 days at home.

Benefits include dental, vision, FSA, short- and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, and vacation (starting at 2 weeks) and sick time (24 days). Three personal days and eight paid holidays. No medical benefits provided. We are an eligible employer for Public Service Loan forgiveness.

Salary approximately $36,000-$38,000 based on experience with opportunities for growth.
