We’re a mission-driven organization empowering people for social good in Washington County. We’re looking for someone extraordinary to aid our mission and further our cause. Our Volunteer & Program Coordinator is an integral part of our team and serves as a liaison between our 50+ nonprofit members, community and business partners, and volunteers. This role helps to develop and execute innovative events and programs that help connect community members to the needs of our nonprofit partners. This role helps drive success with our pillar programs: the Do Good Bus, Camp SuperHero, The Kindness Project, and Get Connected. This role requires a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends. As a small team, every member wears many hats and needs to be willing to jump in where needed. Marketing, events, volunteer coordination, nonprofit partner management, community outreach, and program tracking and measurement are all areas where you may be asked to help. 

Here’s who we’re looking for: 

  • Strong communicator who understands the importance of keeping audiences informed
  • Able to speak with confidence and assertiveness in front of a variety of audiences
  • Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills and follow-through – all a must
  • Must be able to juggle multiple priorities and think on your feet. We move fast!
  • Knowledgeable with various software applications, such as: Canva, Google Sheets, Typeform, etc.
  • Marketing skills would be a plus, especially experience with email (Mail Chimp) and social media
  • Creative thinker and problem solver. Being able to offer creative ideas and solutions is key to linking our partner volunteer needs and projects with current programs
  • Serves as a key contact for our nonprofit partner agencies and ensures program sustainability. 
  • People-person who is warm, kind, and generous. This position will be working directly with our 50+ partners and work to continue to grow this member pool. 
  • Can-do, team-player attitude. We are a small team with a big job to do, so we have to work together. 
  • Initially part-time, with a possible goal to transition to full-time
  • Schedule flexible, but occasional weekend and evening functions required and this is not a ‘remote’ role

Specific day-to-day responsibilities and expectations: 

  • Collaborates with the Volunteer Center team on all yearly/quarterly strategic planning for our Community Engagement programs. 
  • Develops thoughtful plans and leads the team with the successful execution of our community engagement programs. 
  • Represents the Volunteer Center at community events and develops relationships with partner agencies, community leaders and volunteers. 
  • Plays a key role in coordinating Partner Renewals, Onboarding new member, “Get Connected” Technical Training, and overall Partnership Satisfaction
  • Assists with event planning and execution
  • Be able to lift 30 lbs. and hike a mile. Some of this job occurs on volunteer sites. Willingness to get your hands dirty and participate in the volunteer efforts that we facilitate.
