PURPOSE:
Under the supervision of the Walker’s Point Executive Director, the Director of Communications &; Fund Development supports key aspects of Walker’s Point Youth & Family Center’s fundraising and communications strategies. This includes managing donor cultivation efforts, supporting fundraising campaigns and events, and overseeing the agency’s website and social media presence. The role is designed to help sustain and grow the organization’s visibility and development capacity on a part-time basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and support development efforts, including identifying and cultivating relationships with prospective donors (individuals, foundations, corporations).
- Assist with direct solicitations, stewardship efforts, donor communications, and strategic proposal development.
- Support stewardship planning, including donor recognition and engagement activities.
- Maintain and nurture relationships with current and potential donors through consistent communication and follow-up.
- Partner with the Executive Director to support annual fundraising campaigns, event planning, and grant-related tasks (including identifying opportunities and tracking deadlines).
- Work with the Executive Director and Board of Directors on strategic planning initiatives, particularly around fund development and community visibility.
- Coordinate and produce marketing and communications materials such as the annual report, brochures, social media content, newsletters, and event collateral.
- Assist in the maintenance and updating of the agency’s website and social media platforms, with a focus on community engagement and donor outreach.
- Assist with planning and marketing special events, including coordinating logistics, promoting events through various channels, and managing follow-up communication.
- Help maintain the agency’s donor and grant databases, including processing donations, generating acknowledgements, and running donor reports.
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in any of the following areas: fundraising, donor relations, communications, marketing, public relations, event planning, graphic design, or customer service.
- Proficiency in managing social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram) and website platforms (e.g., Wix).
- Familiarity with Constant Contact, Canva, and Microsoft Office Suite required; experience with CharityProud, Google Analytics, or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience with grant writing and donor database management preferred but not required.
COMPENSATION:
$25,000–$35,000 annually, based on experience and weekly schedule (20–25 hours/week).
