POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Associate Director of Student Services is responsible for overseeing Student Services, the primary contact between the Conservatory and its students and families. The Associate Director will coordinate all aspects of the customer experience. The Associate Director of Students Services reports to the Chief Operations Officer. Skills required include: strong communication; exceptional customer service; knowledge of business and education practices and knowledge of music education. This individual must show exceptional maturity and leadership and an ability to effectively communicate, advance the mission of the Conservatory, and the follow policies of the President and Board of Directors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for Conservatory students with the Conservatory.
  • Supervise, support, and train Student Services Associates and interns as appropriate.
  • Manage the Conservatory registration database.
  • Collaborate with education staff to appropriately place students in classes, ensembles and private lessons.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all Conservatory offerings, including classes, lessons, ensembles, concerts, and donor events.
  • Follow Conservatory policies for handling monetary transactions, payment plans, and accounts receivable and ensure the accuracy and fiscal responsibility of all financial transactions.
  • Support all education programs, classes and special events as requested.
  • Attend specified evening and weekend performances.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in arts administration, music education, business or related field.

MUST HAVES: A desire to work with a team to carry out the Conservatory mission of “Inspiring Individuals and Communities with Exceptional Music Education Accessible to All.” Commitment to the Conservatory’s values of: Excellence, Integrity, Empathy, and Inclusion. Ability to work independently and creatively; strong oral and written communication skills; experience managing financial transactions; experience working in cooperation with children, families, educators, and administrators; excellent organizational skills; three to five years experience in an office working environment; database management skills; practice supervising a small staff; ability to maintain the highest professional ethics at all times.

NICE TO HAVE, NOT REQUIRED:

Experience working in Microsoft Office and Hubspot

Bilingual in Spanish

Work hours: One Saturday a month and some evening work is expected.

Salary: $60,000
