HOURS: 32-40 hours per week (0.8 – 1.0 FTE), Benefits-Eligible

 LOCATION: Remote with the ability to travel throughout Wisconsin.

JOB SUMMARY: The Quality & Learning Facilitator holds a key position on the Mammographic Quality Initiative (MQI), which applies transdisciplinary approaches to reduce breast cancer disparities in Wisconsin rooted in the mammographic process. The MQI aims to build a shared system of mammography quality across the state of Wisconsin. We are building consensus in regional learning collaboratives (RLCs) made of mammogram providers (radiologists, techs, nurses, patient navigators, quality managers, etc.) and patient stakeholders. Across collaboratives and the initiative leadership team, we work to redefine quality mammograms, build shared measures of quality, and collectively recommend and implement strategies for improvement for partnering facilities.

The MQI is part of the Community Cancer Science Network (CCSN) and funded by the Advancing Healthier Wisconsin (AHW) Endowment at the Medical College of Wisconsin. The Facilitator will be employed by the Wisconsin Women’s Health Foundation, one of the community partners on the grant. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated professional with exceptional interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills to create meaningful change and advance health equity in Wisconsin.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Facilitate, support, and grow mammography Regional Learning Collaboratives (40%)

  • Work with Project Manager to support existing Southeastern Wisconsin collaborative, and grow new Rural Wisconsin collaborative, of health system and community mammogram partners.
  • Schedule, prepare, organize, and manage logistics and communication of these collaborative meetings.
  • Create an intentional environment within the collaboratives that fosters learning, listening, shared definitions and a collective agenda across all members.
  • Utilize dynamic group facilitation and engagement techniques to cultivate and create a safe, exciting, and equitable atmosphere.
  • Proactively identify collaborative membership and engagement gaps or areas for improvement and execute plans to address issues.
  • Work with Project Manager and Evaluator to pause, reflect, and nudge groups towards equity.

Design, implement, and adapt quality improvement learning processes (30%)

  • Consider grant aims and project evaluation data to date to design quality improvement learning and implementation processes tailored to regional learning collaboratives and facilities.
  • Design user-friendly processes for members to use data as a learning tool to make decisions. Adapt data collection processes, provide technical assistance throughout collection, and create reporting processes that center learning and action.
  • Collaborate with Project Manager and Evaluator to incorporate evaluation learnings into quality improvement and learning activities.

Engagement and collaboration with MQI leadership team, general project partners, and WWHF (30%)

  • Collaborate regularly with internal and external partners part of MQI, and overall CCSN infrastructure.
  • Monitor progress, provide updates, identify project needs, troubleshoot any issues, and provide on-going feedback of RLCs to Project Manager and overall MQI leadership team.
  • Engage in all MQI leadership team and CCSN meetings and events.
  • Represent the MQI project to both internal and external partners.
  • Reporting and engagement with Wisconsin Women’s Health Foundation organization and colleagues, including staff meetings, trainings, professional development, and communications and development needs.

 Successful candidates will HAVE:

  • Lived or professional experience with the continuum of cancer care (prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, end-of-life)
  • Strong connections to the communities or partners of focus
  • Exceptional relational skills – facilitation, interpersonal, and communication
  • Ability to create and uphold an inclusive, highly engaging, and equitable collaborative culture
  • Successful coaching or teaching of diverse of individuals or systems in quality improvement or learning goals
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work both in a self-directed and independent manner
  • Flexibility as a team member in a variety of institutional and individual work cultures
  • A strong desire to create meaningful change, reduce cancer disparities, and advance health equity
  • Ability to uphold and operationalize the core principles of initiative which include: 1) biology to policy perspectives, 2) grounding in equity and justice, and 3) systems thinking

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. At least one year of group facilitation/quality improvement coaching/teaching experience
  2. At least one year of project management/coordination experience
  3. Strong technical skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom
  4. Ability to travel to Madison WWHF offices and team meetings in Southeastern and rural Wisconsin

DESIRED QUALIFCATIONS:

  1. At least three years of group facilitation/quality improvement coaching/teaching experience
  2. At least three years of project management/coordination experience
  3. Familiarity or expertise in adult learning theories and principles, health care quality improvement work
  4. Bachelors/Master’s degree in related field
