We are proud to have helped over 300 organizations fill over 1,300 opportunities last year, with the site averaging more than 50,000 page views each month in 2025, and thousands of visitors weekly.

Our most popular jobs of 2025 are reflected in the wordcloud above, which consists of the position titles of the 100 job posts that received the most application button clicks last year, with the titles that were found multiple times in these job posts (such as “Office Manager”) represented by being larger in size in the wordcloud.

The wordcloud (full-size image) reflects the diverse interests and skillsets of our job seekers. It encompasses the full spectrum of experience levels, from entry-level (e.g. intern, assistant, associate) to mid-level (e.g. specialist, coordinator, manager) to senior (e.g. director, executive), as well as the range of fields (operations, development and fundraising, administration, advocacy and organizing, communications and marketing, employment and workforce development, executive leadership, shelter and housing, human services, education, youth and children’s services, and more) found within our nonprofit sector.

Job Openings by Type

2025 Opportunities by Type

In 2025, Jobs That Help had the following types of opportunities posted (some are counted more than once in this case, if a job post was tagged as having both full-time and part-time options, for instance):

  • 1,029 full-time jobs
  • 268 part-time jobs
  • 70 other jobs (such as seasonal or temporary jobs, on-call positions, etc.)
  • 50 internships
  • 29 board positions
  • 4 AmeriCorps positions

Job Openings by Field

As detailed in the chart below, which shows the percentage of opportunities that were posted in each field in 2025, the 1,300+ opportunities that were posted to our Job Listings last year reflect the the broad range of fields found within our nonprofit sector.

2025 Opportunities by Field

The “Other Fields” in the chart above include board and committee service, executive leadership, employment and workforce development, animal welfare, human resources, information technology, healthcare, food services, environmental and horticultural, food services, spirituality and religion, security, and transportation.

We saw several changes from 2024 in the percentage of opportunities posted in each field. The largest changes were opportunities in education increasing from roughly 7% to 11% and the youth and children’s services field decreasing from roughly 7.5% to 6%, with changes in all other fields measuring 1% or less.

Our Organizations’ Missions

Of the more than 300 organizations that posted opportunities in 2025, they reflect a similarly broad range of missions from those in 2024, serving many different needs, as shown in the chart below.

2025 Mission Areas of Organizations

The “Other Areas” in the chart above include: agriculture, food, and nutrition; employment and workforce development; animal welfare; public safety, disaster preparedness, and relief; and others.

We also continued to see a steady growth of new organizations registering employer accounts in 2025, welcoming over 120 new organizations to Jobs That Help last year.

Job Seeker Activity

As reflected by the robust range of connections, outreach, and marketing strategies to job seekers that we engage in, we have continued to draw a wide audience to Jobs That Help. Of the thousands of weekly visitors to the site, an average of 63% each week in 2025 were new visitors, and roughly one in five visits to the site were from a neighboring state (especially the Chicagoland area).

2025 Sources of Job Seeker Traffic

A little over a third (37%) of our visitors navigated directly to us (such as by typing our URL into their browser), 20% found us through organic search engine results (such as via Google), 17% through paid search engine results (via ads we place on Google and Bing search results), 13% through social media, 8% through email and e-newsletters, and 5% through referrals from the many websites that link to us.

We also saw over 500 resumes posted to our Resume Bank last year by job seekers, who used our Job Alerts to send over 5,000 of our job alert emails directly to their inboxes about opportunities on Jobs That Help in 2025.

In addition, we sent monthly e-newsletters to our 5,000+ job seeker subscribers (subscribe to our job seeker or employer e-newsletter, if you aren’t subscribed already!), highlighting the opportunities on our Job Listings and other resources and events.

Our featured posts continued to perform strongly in 2025, and they have received an average of 58% more page views and 51% more clicks to apply, as compared to job posts that weren’t featured on our Job Listings and social media channels (which now include 7,000+ followers, covering Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Threads, X, and Bluesky), since we began tracking this data in 2020.

Our Featured Post thus continues to be ideal for positions that need to be filled quickly, are especially important to gather the most skilled or diverse applications for, or simply when the budget allows.

Additional Factors for Job Post Performance

We analyzed all 1,300+ job posts published in 2025 to see how job posts that included wage or salary details performed in comparison to those job posts that didn’t include those details.

In addition, we analyzed the performance of job posts that included a mention of benefits in 2025 to see how they performed in comparison to those job posts that didn’t include any mention of benefits.

Lastly, we tracked the performance of job posts that specified that the opportunity was hybrid or remote in 2025, and compared their performance to job posts for opportunities that were presumably fully on-site.

Including Wage and Salary Details

Job posts that included wage or salary details (either a specific amount or a range) saw, on average, the following improved performance:

  • 31% increase in clicks to apply
  • 58% increase in page views
  • 134% increase in entrances*

Including Benefits Details

Job posts that included at least a mention of benefits (e.g. at least “benefits included,” if not a list of the specific benefits offered) saw, on average, the following improved performance:

  • 20% increase in clicks to apply
  • 28% increase in page views
  • 84% increase in entrances*

Job posts that included a list of the specific benefits offered did even better, enjoying a 27% increase in clicks to apply, a 35% increase in page views, and a 94% increase in entrances.

Hybrid Opportunities

Job posts that specified that the opportunity was hybrid saw, on average, the following improved performance compared to opportunities that were presumably fully on-site:

  • 24% increase in clicks to apply
  • 8% increase in page views
  • 26% increase in entrances*

Remote Opportunities

Job posts that specified that the opportunity was fully remote saw, on average, the following improved performance compared to opportunities that were presumably fully on-site:

  • 66% increase in clicks to apply
  • 36% increase in page views
  • 80% increase in entrances*

*Entrances refer to how many times visitors came directly to the job post from where they saw it elsewhere online, indicative of how much interest the job post is generating.

In 2025, only 49% of jobs posted on Jobs That Help included wage or salary details (a slight decrease from 51% in 2024 on Jobs That Help) and only 48% of jobs posted on Jobs That Help mentioned benefits (even though there were many more jobs posted that did in fact include benefits!). If your job posts don’t include these details (or are hybrid or remote, but don’t mention this), we strongly encourage adding this information to increase the effectiveness of your job posts.

Events for Career & Professional Development

Jobs That Help - Events

Lastly, but not least, we listed over 375 nonprofit-focused career and professional development events on our Events Calendar in 2025, including a variety of events that we sponsored or exhibited at to further share the opportunities on our Job Listings.

Some of the events we listed last year that received the most interest included nonprofit conferences in Milwaukee, Green Bay, Madison, Kenosha, and Wisconsin Dells, a monthly social service professionals gathering, a grant writing professionals group, a Nonprofit Lift event, and a nonprofit accounting course. We have many excellent events listed for this year, too, covering all aspects of nonprofit management and professions, such as:
