No Ask, No Problem: Fundraising Roles for Every Board Member
Beginning November 5th: the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation, in partnership with the UW-Green Bay Nonprofit Education and Development Network, is offering a two-part series, “No Ask, No Problem: Fundraising Roles for Every Board Member”:
“Many board members join a nonprofit because they care about the mission, not because they want to ask friends for money. Yet fundraising becomes one of their biggest expectations, frustrating staff and volunteers alike. This interactive workshop helps nonprofit leaders rethink board fundraising, starting with recruiting and onboarding the right members and continuing through engaging every board member in meaningful, non-ask fundraising roles. Designed for organizations of all sizes, including those with limited staff capacity and rural communities, it will focus on realistic, relationship-centered strategies. Participants will leave with a customizable Board Fundraising Engagement Matrix and a between-session assessment to build toward an actionable plan.
Participant Learning Outcomes:
- Understand what motivates today’s board members to become engaged in fundraising.
- Match fundraising activities to each board member’s interests, skills, and comfort level.
- Create meaningful fundraising roles beyond making the ask.
- Equip board members with practical, confidence-building opportunities to support philanthropy.
- Develop an action plan to increase board engagement that fits their organization’s size, capacity, and community.
This session is open to nonprofits serving communities within Brown, Kewaunee & Oconto Counties, with priority given to organizations that primarily serve these counties.“
