Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is the leading local hunger-relief organization in the state with locations in Milwaukee and Appleton. Founded in 1982 by the Rotary Club of Milwaukee, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is a local and independent member of the Feeding America network. Driven by our mission to solve hunger, we are bringing more people together around the table to collaboratively address the root causes of hunger. Together with our network partners, we serve nearly half a million food-insecure people across 35 counties in eastern Wisconsin each year.


The Philanthropic Operations Manager is responsible for the ongoing quality, fundraising support, and consolidation of the organization’s donor data. This role will work closely with both fundraisers and data entry administrators to review the completeness and accuracy of donor data and oversee updates in the fundraising and donor management software.


  • Responsible for collecting, organizing, and analyzing data to support productivity, efficiency, and decision-making for donor cultivation and stewardship in the donor life cycle. 
  • Responsible for overseeing the completeness and accuracy of our donor data in our fundraising and donor management software (currently Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge). 
  • Responsible for fulfilling approved internal and external data requests to aid the Development team in relationship-based fundraising. 
  • Responsible for providing coverage and support for donor and gift data entry, answering donor phone calls, and preparing and mailing gift acknowledgements and tributes as gift volume and team workload demands increase. 
  • Responsible for research and identification of additional wealth, philanthropic, and biographical donor information to be added to donor database. 
  • Responsible for recording and managing donor pledges and pledge payments 
  • Provides internal donor relations support through the proper recording and follow through of Grants, Strategic Gifts, and Pledges. 
  • Supports the team on donor identification for Event planning, solicitation mailings, and Strategic communications, as well as data consolidation, reporting, and analysis projects. 
  • Oversee and manage the Donor Database Administrator team.
  • Provide Raiser’s Edge and Raiser’s Edge NXT training to staff as necessary. 
  • Responsible for creating departmental dashboards for the Development Department.

  • Commitment to understand and support FAEW’s mission, vision, and effective actions to end food insecurity and its causes.
  • Respect for the people FAEW serves and commitment to learn the causes of their food insecurity and need.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred. 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills—able to prioritize multiple projects efficiently and within strict timelines. 
  • Two or more years of experience in a resource development or nonprofit environment
  • Experience with Power BI, preferred
  • Experience building dashboards, preferred 
  • Experience with Raisers Edge NXT, preferred 
  • Excellent knowledge of the MS Office Suite, specifically Excel. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, organizational, critical thinking, analytical, interpersonal and presentation skills 
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other team members
  • Demonstrate the ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be open-minded of differing opinions and views.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License, automobile insurance that meets Feeding America’s liability requirements and transportation to travel to work sites, if needed


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds while moving files or small packages. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The ability to work from home is a flexible work arrangement that Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin (FAEW) offers to enable employees to achieve a more successful balance between work responsibilities and family life. FAEW may offer this option to employees when it benefits both the organization and the employee. However, our FAEW facilities serve as a critical hub for collaboration and, while we want to embrace flexibility, the need to be in the office or out in the field and working on projects or networking through natural camaraderie, will be expected. This position does have the capacity to work from home in our hybrid work from home model, which is generally 3-4 days on-site and 1-2 days remote.
