The Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) is seeking a motivated and relationship-focused Corporate & Community Engagement Coordinator to support and grow our outreach, fundraising, and partnership efforts. This role plays a vital part in advancing our mission by cultivating meaningful connections with businesses, volunteers, and donors throughout the community.
Essential Functions:
- Fundraising & Events:
Collaborate with the Marketing & Philanthropy Director to plan and execute HAWS’ major fundraising events, including Happy Tails, HAWSfest, and Hooves & Flights. Provide logistical support and contribute to donor engagement strategies.
- Corporate & Community Outreach:
Act as the primary contact for corporate partnerships and volunteer groups. Strategically engage businesses, organizations, and the public to expand support for HAWS’ mission.
- Volunteer Management:
Partner with the Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train, and retain a reliable and enthusiastic volunteer workforce. Oversee group volunteer scheduling and ensure effective communication across departments.
- Donor Relations & Recognition:
Assist in donor cultivation through 1:1 communication, event involvement, and workplace giving programs. Ensure accurate and timely donor recognition and stewardship.
- Collaboration & Communication:
Work cross-functionally with HAWS staff to support corporate development goals, maintain branding and signage consistency across locations, and communicate effectively with stakeholders and the public.
- Reporting & Evaluation:
Maintain accurate records of outreach and engagement activities. Assist in tracking outcomes and identifying areas for improvement in corporate and community programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Must be 21 or older, valid driver’s license and ability to be insured on organization’s insurance policy
- Minimum of 1 year experience in event planning, marketing, development, or community engagement
- Experience working in an animal welfare setting or with animal handling is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage in diverse audiences
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in donor databases, Microsoft Office, and digital communication tools
- Comfortable working around animals and handling them when needed
- Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds and work evenings or weekends as needed
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance required
Work Environment:
- Indoor and outdoor work required, with potential exposure to animal dander, odors, and zoonotic diseases
- May include loud noise, physical activity, and high-energy environments
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary
