Job Summary

The Building Manager oversees the physical building operations of the House and performs maintenance, safety, and management tasks. The highest priority will be the comfort and safety of guests and efficient and safe operation of the facility.

Qualifications

  • Physical ability to sit, stand, bend, walk, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • A valid Wisconsin driver’s license.

Compensation

Kathy’s House offers: a competitive hourly rate of $28-$35 (based on experience), Paid Time Off, an EAP program, and a Simple IRA plan (up to 3% match).

Core Competencies

  • Advanced mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and other building systems.
  • Proficiency with repair tools and techniques.
  • Ability to respect the sensitive nature of the mission of Kathy’s House and its guests.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and address routine and emergency facility maintenance repairs, and upkeep.
  • Serve as the liaison to all contracted providers of grounds and facilities maintenance.
  • Oversee efficient operation and required preventive maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems per manufacturers requirements and AHJ requirements.
  • Establish and implement appropriate preventive maintenance protocols on all major building equipment and systems.
  • Track and report on all utility / energy costs for analysis and budget development. Collaborate with management on budget for facilities needs.
  • Review, maintain, and update documented policies and procedures for efficient and compliant operation.
  • Participate in MRMC Emergency Preparedness Committee and coordinate Kathy’s House response to campus wide drills held two times per year.
  • Protect the integrity of House systems, including but not limited to security, phone, wi-fi, & cable.
  • Ensure the House Vehicle license and maintenance is up to date and that vehicle has sufficient fuel for transport rides.
