The Village of Shorewood is part of the national network of AARP Livable Communities, which work to create environments wherein persons of all ages can thrive.
Under the general supervision of the Director of Senior Services, the Program Coordinator facilitates community engagement which supports the ability of older adults to remain connected to their community throughout their lifespans.
This position will coordinate programs, events and services, and provides support to the Senior Resource Center office daily functions and projects as needed.
Some of the responsibilities of the Program Coordinator will include: development, implementation and promotion of older adult/intergenerational events across multiple venues, coordination of volunteers, facility set-up, catered events and administrative support.
The ideal applicant will have some post-secondary education, and preferably a bachelor’s degree. Additionally, candidate should have a strong customer service focus, and at least one year’s professional experience working with older adults, events planning and social media platforms. Experience with catering/ food service is a plus. This person will work in the Senior Resource Center office, which is in the lower level of Village Center (3920 N. Murray Ave.).
This is a 32 hour/week position. Starting salary is $18 – 22 per hour pending qualifications and includes benefits.
