Westown Association of Milwaukee, Inc. is a downtown Milwaukee non-profit business association involved in economic revitalization and promotion of the area west of the Milwaukee River. The organization’s staff works with the volunteer board of directors, committees and local business leaders to promote and program the downtown Milwaukee district. The organization also oversees the administration of Business Improvement Districts #5, #15 and the Old World Third Street Entertainment District Association. Westown Association of Milwaukee, Inc. has a small office working atmosphere that is unique, energetic and fun.
The Marketing Coordinator is a part-time position focused on the support of the 501c3 organization’s marketing operations. From June through October, the primary focus of the Marketing Coordinator will be on promotion of the Milwaukee Night Market and the Westown Golf Open, and support event coordination and production. Employee reports to the Executive Director and provides support to the Marketing & Events Director.
Position and Duties
Duties of the Marketing Coordinator may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist with developing social media strategy for Westown & event social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok & LinkedIn
- Social media content creation & scheduling across Westown & event social media channels
- Maintain content on westown.org & mkenightmarket.com including current events, news articles & member/vendor listings
- Write content for monthly Westown eWire & special event newsletters
- Assist with graphic design as needed for social media & Westown/event collateral such as brochures, posters, signage, invitations, presentations, etc.
- Prepare social media kits for vendors, entertainment, sponsors & media partners
- Assist with event coordination for Milwaukee Night Market & Westown Golf Open. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supporting vendor/entertainment communication & management, serve as point of contact for event partners & sponsors, managing & organizing event supply inventory, soliciting & collecting raffle/auction prizes, etc.
- Assist with on-site event production for Milwaukee Night Market & Westown Golf Open. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: set-up/tear-down of event infrastructure, vendor load-in/load-out, on-site social media management, managing volunteers & support staff, solving problems as situations arise, etc.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree from an accredited institution in marketing/communications or related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training that would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the successful performance of the essential job duties.
- Experience with various social media platforms
- Experience with Microsoft Suite, SquareSpace, Canva & Adobe programs preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage, organize, coordinate and prioritize assignments under tight deadlines
- Strong written & oral communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter who is energetic, outgoing and learns quickly
- Ability to work with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds
- Ability & comfort with navigating an urban environment required
- Familiarity & interest in Downtown Milwaukee is helpful
- Ability to lift objects of various sizes & weights up to 50lbs & to be on your feet for long hours on event days
Employment Period
This is a temporary, part-time position. The employment period shall commence on June 1, 2026 and continue through October 30, 2026.
Compensation
Employee will be compensated at the rate of $25.00 per hour. Payment will be made bi-monthly on the 15th and last day of each month by direct deposit in accordance with Employer’s regular payroll schedule.
Work Schedule
Employee is expected to work 25 hours per week. The specific daily and hourly schedule will be mutually agreed upon between Employee and Employer.
Required Availability for Events: Employee must be available to work the following Milwaukee Night Market and Westown Golf Open events:
- Milwaukee Night Market: Wednesdays, June 24, July 22, August 19 & September 16 from 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM
- In the event of a weather-related cancelation, Wednesday, October 7 is reserved for a make-up date
- Westown Golf Open: Monday, September 21 from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Additional Hours: Additional hours beyond the standard 25 hours per week may be approved during the week of the Milwaukee Night Market or Westown Golf Open, subject to Employer approval.
Work Location: This position requires in-person work at the Westown office (310 W. Wisconsin Ave., Suite 1450E, Milwaukee, WI 53203) and on-site at event locations. Remote work is not available for this temporary position except in rare circumstances with advance approval from the Executive Director.

- A cell phone reimbursement of $50.00 per month
This position is not eligible for any of the Employer’s benefits package, paid time off or holiday pay.
