Position Summary

The SB Monitor will support the daily operations of Big Brothers Big Sisters by assisting staff in program coordination, child interviews, match support, survey administration, and monitoring school sites. The SB Monitor supervises Big Brothers Big Sisters match meetings between adult mentors and youth during day and after-school mentoring programs at Milwaukee and/or Waukesha schools. The role tracks attendance of participants and helps guide positive interactions and activities between youth and mentors. In addition, this role maintains communication with school liaisons, provides administrative support and ensures a safe environment for mentoring activities.

This role provides hands-on experience in youth development, case management, nonprofit work, and community/school partner engagement. The SB Monitor will provide high-quality support to volunteer mentor/child matches in the school-based program at Milwaukee and/or Waukesha schools. Staff members will have regular conversations with match participants, complete accurate and thorough documentation within the Matchforce database, and provide excellent customer service.

You will gain hands-on experience in mentorship and non-profit program operations; training in case management, youth safety standards, and trauma-informed work; skill development in communication, data management, community outreach, and teamwork; and a meaningful role supporting positive youth development.

  • Ability to be an active participant of a team environment, effectively collaborating with others.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is desirable.

Time Commitment & Schedule

  • 15-20 hours a week ranging from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
  • Occasional evening or weekend events will be worked into the requirement.

Hourly rate is $20-$21/hour.
