Mommies Make It Better (MMIB) is a Milwaukee-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes mothers to rediscover a new way of living through support, healing, and growth.
Through mentorship, community connection, family-centered programming, and opportunities for personal development, MMIB works to strengthen mothers, families, and communities.
Position Summary
MMIB is seeking a relationship-driven individual to serve as Founding Board Director of Community Engagement & Partnerships.
This individual will help strengthen MMIB’s visibility, relationships, and connections throughout Milwaukee and surrounding communities.
We are looking for someone who understands the importance of authentic community engagement and recognizes that meaningful partnerships are built through trust, collaboration, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities

Help identify and cultivate relationships with community organizations, schools, agencies, businesses, and other potential partners.

Support MMIB’s community engagement and outreach strategy.

Identify opportunities for collaboration, resource sharing, and community partnerships.

Represent MMIB at selected community meetings, networking opportunities, and events.

Support organizational visibility and awareness within Milwaukee and surrounding communities.

Help connect MMIB with individuals and organizations aligned with its mission.

Collaborate with the Founder & CEO and fellow board members to support community engagement priorities.

Participate in board governance, strategic planning, and organizational development.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in community engagement, outreach, partnerships, advocacy, social services, education, or nonprofit work.

Strong knowledge of Milwaukee and surrounding communities.

Existing professional or community relationships are beneficial.

Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.

Commitment to inclusion, collaboration, and community-centered practices.

Willingness to actively participate in local engagement opportunities.
Location & Commitment
Applicants must be located in Milwaukee or the surrounding Southeast Wisconsin area and have the ability to participate in occasional in-person community activities.
Board meetings may be held virtually.
This is an unpaid volunteer board position requiring consistent engagement, follow-through, and participation.
